Finally, the Darkness-wielding Witness clashes with the Light-giving Traveler. The best and worst of Destiny 2: Lightfall are reflected in its campaign.

The problem is that compared to expectations it’s probably the biggest narrative miss in the series’ history since D2 vanilla’s “expansions”, and that makes it feel much worse than it actually is because of how soured people’s feeling are.Platform(s): PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One Pretty comfortably on the tier of the Beyond Light campaign in terms of a bunch of setup for little payoff. It’s got way more campaign content than anything besides WQ, arguably better post-campaign content than WQ and beat only by Forsaken in that regard, and the storytelling (while bad) isn’t really that much worse than any of the pre-WQ expansions. Without context, Shadowkeep is way worse than Lightfall, and I’d even say Lightfall is the second or third best expansion Destiny has gotten. Shadowkeep wasn’t that big of a letdown compared to what the state of the game was at the time, while Lightfall’s story basically fell off a cliff after 2 years of good storytelling. I think it depends on whether you score it in context of the state of the game or not. I trust less in them having technical difficulties than the more likely scenario of them gutting the story to sell more products. Destiny has the most greedy business model and convoluted amounts of paywalls for base content. It is ludicrous to defend them at this point. Bungie knowingly created very misleading trailers and are monetizing off their hollow, cheaply put-together boxed price product again for the 6th or 7th time. I'm not saying live-service game story development is easy because it is not.

If you want to talk about technical issues, then nothing tops Final Fantasy XI in ambition trying to push story updates on the PS2 that eventually ended up introducing series favourites with their limited presentation resources. Guild Wars 2 isn't good persay but it is engaging enough with a decent Living World release structure considering its relatively low revenue. Star Trek Online has better writing in its updates than most of the franchise. Genshin is a big one, with its worldbuilding putting most AAA fantasy games to shame. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
